Hi DSP Team,
We’re grateful for the current ability to assign a future start date when enrolling students into classes. However, we’ve noticed an issue with how this is currently implemented:
Even when a future start date is set, the student immediately appears as enrolled in the class. This leads to confusion when checking current class numbers, as students not yet actively participating are included in the active enrollment count.
It affects class planning and capacity tracking.
It can create billing confusion for staff and parents.
It prevents accurate reporting on how many students are actively attending at any given time.
Students with a future start date should only appear as enrolled in the class from the actual start date onward — not before.
Until their start date arrives, their status could be shown as “Scheduled” or “Pending Enrollment” in admin views, and they should not count toward current enrollment totals.
This would bring the start date feature in line with the existing drop date logic, which already works beautifully by removing students only on the specified future date.
We believe this adjustment would make class management significantly more accurate and reduce manual tracking.
Thanks so much for your continued support and great tools!
Warm regards,
Rose-Marié
