Is there a way I can charge a pro rata rate to trial students only when they enrol but not for returning students.

Hi

I'm wondering if there is a way to acheive this or whether it could be made possible please?

I charge for my classes termly. If a current student doesn't return to class in a new term until week 2 or 3 I would still like to charge them for the full term at the point they register. However I would at the same time like a new student who has paid for a trial of week 1 to only be charged for the remaining weeks when they register for week 2 onwards.

    Hi, Just thought I'd revisit this as I still don't think my idea was understood and It is something I am still having to work around.

    I charge students termly and let parents re-register each term online rather than enrol them myself and then invoice.


    I know I can prorata my sessions and I do but at the start of a new term I switch that feature off so that returning students are charged for a full term even if they misst he first week or 2 of the new term and only register on week 2 or 3. If I set prorata on at this point in the term I would be loosing money from these returning students.


    The issue arrises when new students trialing for the first time over the same period are charged for the full term rather than just from the week they enrol.


    So what would be amazing is if there were 2 layers to the prorata option; 1 that targets old / returning students and 1 that targets new students signing up after a trial.

    Thanks so much for your response!

    This isn���t quite what I meant though. I am aware of the pro rata function, it is great and I have used it successfully in the past.

    The problem that I have at the moment though is that I want to charge current/previous students for a full term, even if they don���t show up (register) for the first few weeks of a new term. But I want New students who take a trial to then be able to sign up at the pro rata rate for the remaining number of weeks.

    Hello Stuart!

    You should be able to prorate tuition under your season settings (More > Settings). The system starts prorating tuition the day after the season starts. So, if you set up proration within your term, the system should adjust the tuition amounts based on when the student enrolls online in the Parent Portal or using the Registration Manager (Magic > Registration Manager).
