Robo-Mailer parent: Show Parent's portal, not Add New Family, in left pane

When I'm emailing a parent, I want to be able to quickly navigate to the parent's information on the left pane--see the child's name, age, siblings, etc. Instead, the left pane shows the Add a New Family/Student, etc. panel. I seriously doubt anyone is going to want to add a new family or staff member while emailing a current family. Please display the parent's portal for the left pane when emailing a parent when coming from the parent portal. I realize this means customizing the Robo-Mailer functionality but it really needs to be done.
