Saved/scheduled draft doesn't close

I draft an email to a parent and schedule it to send later.
The problem is the draft stays in the email window, so no matter which parent I go to to email, the previous draft is still in the window. Maybe I'm doing something wrong (if I am, it should not be this complicated), but just in case no one has reported this before, thought I would.
