Dropped students excluded from copied seasons

We ask for a half term/seasons notice for children to discontinue/drop classes. We automatically copy the current season’s pupils across to the next season unless they’ve given us this notice.

I currently make a note on pupils account that they’ll be discontinuing. I don’t bother using the drop date functionality.

It would be extremely useful if there was an option to exclude students with a drop date in the current season when copying across pupils from the current season to the next season.

I currently have to include these pupils in the next season, run a report of student notes from the start of the current season and then use the report to manually drop these discontinuing pupils from the next season.

It’s really time-consuming and also error-prone and annoying for parents when they get billed for a season that they’ve already given notice they don’t want to attend.

The reason I don’t use the drop date functionality, is because I assumed it would then automatically drop pupils from future seasons. It doesn’t currently do that, so I don’t bother using it.
