Admin scheduling

What specific challenge or problem does this idea solve?

Using another software, like "When I Work" for full staff scheduling.

How should this work?

Admins should be able to create and assign non-class shifts to staff, such as front desk, administrative, event, opening/closing, or other support shifts. These shifts should appear alongside a staff member’s teaching schedule so they can see their complete schedule in one place.

Ideally, admins could create recurring shifts, assign a role/location, make one-time changes or substitutions, and have updates reflected for staff in real time. Staff should be able to view their full schedule by day/week and easily distinguish between teaching and non-teaching shifts.

It would also be helpful if these scheduled shifts could connect to staff time tracking/payroll reporting, so scheduled hours and actual hours worked can be compared without maintaining a separate scheduling system.

Who will benefit (Admins, Staff, Students)?

Admin and staff

How will this change impact your daily tasks or overall experience?

Adding admin staff scheduling would allow us to manage our full team schedule in one place instead of relying on a separate scheduling platform just for non-teaching staff. Our teaching schedule already lives in DSP, so being able to schedule front desk, administrative, and other non-class shifts alongside it would give both leadership and staff a more accurate, real-time view of who is working and when. It would reduce duplicate data entry, simplify schedule changes and coverage, and eliminate the need to maintain and train staff on an additional system.
