What specific challenge or problem does this idea solve?

Statements only show amounts charged and amounts paid. At times, we have students who have a credit and need a refund paid by cash or check. To refund an overpayment by cash or check, you have to put it in the charged column, which looks like the student has been charged again, unless the memo line has good detail

Add a column that shows a refund paid out, not an account credit.
