Online Store improvements- backorders & tracking Merged

I would like to see the following enhancements to the online store for Products and services, as at the moment we have to rely on memory or a paper based system.

1) The option for an order to be partially completed with some items delivered and some items on back order.

Absolutely everyone one of my suppliers operates such a system and sometimes I find myself unable to fulfil a customer's order although I may be able to deliver some items. So once I do a partial delivery do I leave the complete order on the system? or do I mark the order as complete and remember what has been supplied and what is on backorder? The computer has a better memory than me- please can we use it.

2) I would like the ability to add notes to a customer's order, or have an enhanced tracking system for the progress of an order during the fulfillment process. (Similar to point 3 in the idea raised on 23rd August 2021 titled “online Store Improvements”.) The various stages of an order we experience are

  • Order Received

  • Order made up, or partially made up

  • Outstanding items ordered from supplier

  • Complete or Partial order passed to Dance teacher/Direct to parent/Posted

  • Dance teacher pass order to parent

  • Back-order items received from Supplier.

  • Back-order items passed to Dance teacher/Direct to parent/Posted

  • Item returned after fitting, as size ordered was incorrect

  • New item supplied and order amended
