What specific challenge or problem does this idea solve? |
Currently the system only allows to block the entire family account from "logging in". But there are students we want don't want to fully block, but only from certain classes. |
How should this work? |
Currently you can add a student to override the system in a particular class by going to REGISTRATION and STUDENT EXCEPTIONS tab. This should work the same way, except instead of adding a student to a class, you are BLOCKING them from registering. |
Who will benefit (Admins, Staff, Students)? |
Everyone will benefit. If the family goes to register for a certain class, but can't, they will contact staff and the staff can talk to the family about class selection. |
How will this change impact your daily tasks or overall experience? |
I have attempted to do this multiple times, I will use this feature all the time. We have many dance teams etc. that students become ineligible for due to tuition or behavior issues, this will block them from registering for a team they are no longer eligible for. |
This would help us as well. We have a system where we have the 'main class' and then the 'drop in class'. Some students should not be taking up a position in the main class but could sign up for the same class as a drop in. I too have tried to manipulate the 'skills' to help us but it doesn't work quite right. You have the area that allows for an exception which works great and lets us get around the skill limitations. But adding the ability to 'block' students would cover all bases.
