Feature Request: Distinct Owner vs. Admin Permissions

Hello Studio Pro Team,

I’d like to request an update to the user permissions system that would better serve dance studio owners like myself. Currently, the “Super User” and “Admin” roles don’t meet the nuanced needs of an office admin vs. the actual owner. Make the system more HR Compliant

What specific challenge or problem does this idea solve?

Currently for my office staff to do their jobs, they must be Admins, which gives them access to sensitive information they SHOULD NOT SEE. But as Super Users they do not have access to enough to do their jobs

How should this work?

Proposed Permissions Structure:

  • Owner (new role):

    • Full access to everything on the portal.

    • Can manage all reports, financial data, staff information (including sensitive details like salary and socials), and control Admin permissions.

  • Admin (refined role):

    • Access to most features needed for daily office and studio management.

    • Restricted from sensitive items such as:

      • Certain financial reports

      • Staff personal details (SSNs, salary, etc.)

      • Other confidential data the Owner chooses to lock.

Who will benefit (Admins, Staff, Students)?

Why this matters:

  • Super User/Normal User: Not sufficient for a true office admin role. They lack access to manage the studio effectively.

  • Current Admin: Grants too much access—exposing highly sensitive financial and staff information that should remain private to the Owner.

  • The new Owner vs. Admin distinction would allow studios to delegate management tasks while protecting confidential information.

How will this change impact your daily tasks or overall experience?

This change would enhance security and align permissions more closely with real-world studio operations.

Thank you for considering this request—I believe many studio owners would benefit from having more control over what their admins can and cannot access.
