In the event section or any other section this could be set up in, if we create the event for Picture Day can there be someway we can set up time slots for parents to select for pictures? I know this would be beneficial for all studios who offer a Picture Day! |

We’ve done ours in private lessons for many years and it’s helpful HOWEVER we ran into a problem this year when parents needed to change their appointments. We couldn’t find a way to do it on our end without canceling and having them rebook on the parent side. We started requiring a small studio/admin fee this year to help avoid no shows and cover our costs when they sign up (they pay the photographer his fees directly) but it caused staff more work to do manually when adjustments had to be made. We couldn’t make any changes on our end, accept refund the deposit, cancel the appointment and then have the parent login, select another timeslot and pay the deposit again. It only happened a couple times but it was an issue. Collecting the payment up front definitely added an extra barrier. We ended up having to change the deposit setting to be “billed” so we could access at least rebook the appointment for them through our portal access point BUT there was still those few folks that didn’t pay the admin fee and we had to chase them down. Defeats the purpose.
I wish staff could just go in the calendar and move appointments, especially if you are collecting fees upfront. We found it really odd that we couldn’t make these changes ourselves. If that ability is there, please let us know! Otherwise the private lessons avenue works well for picture day.
You could consider using private lessons and then allow the students to sign up for a slot! Please contact SP Support for more help with this!
