Scanning multiple items in POINT OF SALE

I want to be able to scan MULTIPLE items in point of sale. Right now, you have to click or tap in the search, then select size, color, etc. and then add, then again click or tap in the search. I want to be able to go into POINT OF SALE and scan an item - then you make your selections, click add and scan another item without always having to click the search bar. I hope that makes sense!
