Sometimes, parents end up having two entries in the system. This can happen, for example, if a parent has been made inactive and rejoins, or if a parent creates their own entry.
It would be awesome if the system recognised this and flagged it when the duplicate entry is being created, perhaps with a message like 'similar person already exists'.
If a parent tries to create an account with an email address that is already in the system, they do get a message! Please reach out to DSP Support for more help with this.
