Email (robo-mailer) improvements: robust filters, preview of recipients, check-boxes to include or exclude

We just moved from Jackrabbit to DSP and didn't realize how different DSP's emailing system would work. As we begin our season, we're spending A LOT of time trying to send out emails manually because DSP's email is so far behind.

Here are some things we REALLY miss from Jackrabbit that would vastly improve DSP's email system: it would make emails more accurate and much more useful, more quick.

ROBUST FILTERS

It would be absolutely amazing (and what JR has) if we could have a very robust email filtering system with options for every single field that differs for class, season, family, student, teacher, location, day of the week, etc. This way, you could for example, email each class on Tuesday saying no class because of snow. Or email each teacher and parent with less than 2 students enrolled saying class is postponed until enrollment goes up.

PREVIEW OF RECIPIENTS BEFORE SENDING

Before emails are sent, seeing a full list of all the recipients that the filter produced and then being able to uncheck certain recipients.

ALL EMAILS SENT THROUGH SYSTEM COPIED TO DEFAULT EMAIL

Self explanatory — we receive a copy when we send out robo-mailers -- —great thing about JR is they also include a list of all the recipients in the copy we get.

EMAILS BEING SENT CAN CHANGE THE 'REPLY TO' ADDRESS OR STAFF PERSONS INCLUDED

Before sending emails, another option to change the "reply to" and include additional staff would be good. Having groups that you can check mark would be great, too.

Also have a designation for "staff" not everyone in my system is a parent, teacher or dancer. but if I have an admin who needs to receive the emails i'm sending out. instead, i have to put them as an "assistant" on all of the classes. this seems simple enough and i don't understand why it's not already an option...

To have ability to filter emails according to transaction code so we can send just to those who owe for any specific transaction code we choose.

Thank you for this suggestion! I would like those filters to include "Check parents that have students enrolled in an ACTIVE SEASON" as well. I have several seasons running at once, and it's such a pain to either send the same email to each season, or to laboriously pick through the parent list to uncheck active parents without a child in class at the moment. Groups don't help, since the list is constantly changing and they'd be quickly out of date.

We have to bounce between gmail and dsp depending on the type of email and how we want it to look and who we are sending it to.

    Did you know?

    1. Your Main Classes page has a search feature that can be used in a number of different ways to give you fast access to your classes. You are able to select those classes after using the search feature and send out an email to those specific classes using the Class Actions button.

Once you are on the Robo-Mailer page, you are able to select if you would like to send a copy of that email to the Teacher, Assistants, and/or Backups.

Here's an article that goes over this a little more.

How does the Classes search tool work?

    2. If you would like to receive a copy of every email that is sent out using the Robo-Mailer, you can set that up by going to More > Settings > CC Email Field. Just enter the email you would like the copy sent to in that field and Save changes.

    3. When you send out a Robo-Mailer email, by default any replies from your parents go to your main email address set up under More > Settings. You have the option to add other email addresses to your account as email senders. When you pick a different email sender, then that different email address would get all the replies from the parents.

How do I let other email addresses get replies when I send out Robo-Mailers?
