It would be great if students that create a new account do not become Active until they've chosen a class. I've had nearly 20 new accounts created this summer where they've wanted to receive information but they've been classified as active before choosing a class so they don't receive the advertising emails for InActive students until I go in and change their status.
This function already exists. Just need to tweak your Online Registration settings:
More > Settings > Online Registration > Settings (tab) then scroll down and check the box for:
“New Accounts Inactive” (New parents/students that create an account online go to your Inactive lists unless they enroll in classes)
You might also want to go ahead and check the box right below that: “Make Accounts Active Upon Enrollment” so if/when they do enroll, the system will automatically set parent/student to "active" and you won’t have to change manually.
