Tuition by Family - Not Student

After 33 years of manually entering all payments into three 3-inch binders every season, we are trying to use DSP for our 34th! We have only accepted cash and checks - no credit cards. For now, we are manually entering everything into DSP, as we would have done our binders, until everyone seems comfortable with it - in particular some of our staff and older student's parents. We hope / plan on allowing credit card payments in the coming month or two.I have several questions and I've included a screen shot of an actual family within our DSP. All of these questions are based on our current knowledge and experience with DSP. Perhaps we are not set-up the way in which we would think it would work?Regardless, why does it take the tuition total for the family and try to split it evently across 3 students - even though they are not taking the same amount of classes? Wouldn't this make some parents confused on what the family's new balance would be if a student would decide to drop? In this screen shot, since the family total is divided and then readded together - the total amount is off by $.01 (it should only be $305.00 and not $305.01). Why show student balances / breakdowns at all when tuition is based on the family? Also, if a student drops a class - why doesn't the new tuition amount automatically update to the new family tuition amount? Finally, why do you have to manually push tuition? Why couldn't you say tuition is due on a specific day and the system does it automatically for you?

Agree separate student tuition is causing us much grief. All other programs we have used are based on the family
