Is it possible to add a student discount option for a set amount rather than just a percentage option? We offer a student class assistant program and give an amount discount depending on the amount of classes assisting. For instance, a student discount is $20 for assisting 1 class, and each additional class is a $10 discount for the month. so a student assistant that is assisting two classes a week on the monthly schedule receives a $30 discount on their monthly tuition each month. We currently add these as a non-revenue credit each month, but this would be much easier to select the discount on the students profile once instead of manually each month. Thoughts?
I've been wanting this option for a long time! We offer tuition exchange where one hour of volunteer time scholarships one class. The problem we run into is that we either have to set a fixed tuition amount (if they have more classes than volunteer time) or mark them "no charge" (if they're only in one class), which causes problems if they want to register for another class because then they don't get charged for it. There needs to be a "scholarship" amount field where can just enter how much they're getting regardless of how many classes they sign up for. That's pretty much how most all scholarships work, as far as I know.
In your situation, there may be a tax benefit to applying that credit manually for tracking. However, this speaks to a larger issue in the software with regard to consistency. Some screens give you a percentage option, others a straight dollar amount. I have voted for similar issues when it comes to reporting, sorting, etc. We just need consistency!
