Student Absences Report that just counts total absences over date range

I would like a report that counts the total absences (that aren't made up) per student over a date range. If there was a report that listed the student's name and the total absences side by side, we could copy and paste the data the way we need to. The absence report as it is right now doesn't allow us to do that.
