ability to make groups inactive

Ability to be able to make groups inactive or back to active. I use groups for things that I'd like to save for future if I need them. I use them to identify which show they are assigned to in a particular year so when year is over if I can make inactive I'd still have it for future reference without ending up with so many active groups to sift through.

Would be very helpful and would think not real difficult to implement. Thank you !
